This is an older piece of hardware that I have used in the past before I owned a USB 3 equipped computer. This may expand in the future.
Here is some discussion about it years back I had with many of the fine folks on the openSUSE Forums.
The good news is, it is nearly plug and play with no fuss on openSUSE Tumbleweed and KDE Plasma. The only thing that must be done today is that compositing needs to be disabled or it will not initialize. When it is activated, it also slows the frame rate down of the primary display. I am interested in seeing how newer USB 3 devices work.
