On this night, we chatted about our experience in exploring Storm OS, an Arch based distribution made by Ben and a small community of contributors. The Linux Saloon folks tried out the distribution and provided feedback and encouragement for Ben with his project.

- I think Ben (and others) have done a great job getting this distro to this point. Other than some minor GUI and base config issues, I think it is a good distro. My only suggestion would be to review the target about who this distro is for. It says it is for intermediate and advanced users but those users tend to already have a “favorite” distro, creating a harder hill for Storm OS to climb to attract users. I see Storm OS as more of a second distro or third distro and as such it should include the productivity apps most distros in that position include such as LibreOffice and Chromium for example. If you want people to use your distro on a regular bases you have to give them a reason to. “Finding their own way” IMHO is not what most users want, only hobbyist and enthusiast want this which is a very small population of computer users around the world that want that model. Just my thoughts and opinions… They may not fit yours. Overall though I give it a thumbs up.
